How to Measure Your Lawn Area

Before ordering, it’s important to know how much lawn you need. Follow our simple 4-step guide:

  1. Sketch your area — Draw a basic outline of your lawn.
  2. Break it into simple shapes — Rectangles, triangles, or circles.
  3. Measure each section — Use a tape measure and note all dimensions.
  4. Calculate the area — Use the appropriate formula:
    1. Rectangle: Length x Width
    2. Triangle: 0.5 x Base x Height

Once you’ve calculated the total square meters, contact us for a quote or site visit if needed.

Area A:

0.5 x length x height
0.5 x 2 x 5 = 5 square meters

Area B:

0.5 x length x height
0.5 x 2 x 1 = 1 square meter

Area C:

Length x width
3×1 = 3m square meters

Area D:

Length x width
3×10 = 30 square meters

TOTAL AREA: 5 + 1 + 3 + 30 = 39 square meters

For this example, the size of your area will therefore be 39 square meters. Simply do the same calculations using your own shape and size lawn and then call, email or pop into our office with your order.
