Calculate your lawn area
Calculating the size and are of your lawn is a very important step in the process. While all lawns and areas come in different shapes and sizes, determining how much you need is simple and easy using our step by step method.
1.
Sketch out your lawn. Onto the drawing board as they say! Draw a rough sketch of your area.
2.
Break your shape into areas similar to the diagram illustrated. This way you’ll ensure that each area is comprehensively covered, and no areas get left out or are difficult to calculate.
3.
Use a measuring tape and determine the dimensions of each section of lawn
Don’t forget to write them all down on your diagram.
4. Calculate
Area A:
0.5 x length x height
0.5 x 2 x 5 = 5 square meters
Area B:
0.5 x length x height
0.5 x 2 x 1 = 1 square meter
Area C:
Length x width
3x1 = 3m square meters
Area D:
Length x width
3x10 = 30 square meters
TOTAL AREA: 5 + 1 + 3 + 30 = 39 square meters
For this example, the size of your area will therefore be 39 square meters. Simply do the same calculations using your own shape and size lawn and then call, email or pop into our office with your order.
